Matt B's journey with PR1MEBODY

I’ve always wanted to thank Tim for making such a dramatic change to my fitness journey and basically changing my life (he'll hate me saying that but it's true), so here I am and although he’s quite self-deprecating about the whole thing, I’m glad he’s letting me do this guest blog, so I can inspire others to use PR1MEBODY and hopefully see some of the successes like I have.

Surviving Summer

Fear not, the fun-police are not on their way and this is not a blog piece about avoiding all alcohol and delicious food. All it is a few observations of what I’ve seen around the Mediterranean's favourite holiday spots and small changes holiday goers could make whilst having very little impact on the overall enjoyment of the holiday…

The 7 most important PR1MEBODY tips to guarantee summer body success.

We are constantly  flooded by ‘get-fit-quick’ diet/fitness plans over social media and magazines,  all of which are either unsustainable or offer no long-term benefit. Technology and convenience seems to be shortening our attention spans by the day.  However without time and consistency invested into a diet and fitness regime, sustainability and  long-term benefit will be limited.

Below are the simple things you can do, starting NOW that will jump start your summer of health that will leaving you looking great and feeling awesome….

The confusing world of supplements. What I choose to take, what I recommend and why.

Summer Six-Pack: The Fundamentals

Summer Six-Pack: The Fundamentals

Firstly, the goal of a summer-six pack is deceiving. It should be the 'summer-and-foreseeable-future six pack'. Don't start a diet or an active lifestyle that has an expiry date. Sustainability in both Diet and Training are key…

LAGOM. The art of balance

LAGOM. The art of balance

Last weekend I was invited away to The Grove just north of London as part of a Fitness-Group to test drive Volvo's newest edition the XC40.  Being a Swedish brand, the mantra or theme of the car –as well as the weekend– was the Swedish term ‘Lagom’.

The Killers in your Kitchen

The Killers in your Kitchen

Whenever I chat to friends and family about this topic, they initially look at me like I’m a tin-foil hat-wearing conspiracy theorist. Especially when I tell them half the things in their kitchen and fridge are out to kill them - or at the very least - mess with their intricate inner circuitry of happiness, sex drive and resulting physical characteristics...

THE BIG FAT CONFUSION: Tim Blakey

THE BIG FAT CONFUSION: Tim Blakey

There is still a lot of confusion surrounding fats, which types are healthy, which are not and what their various roles are.

The confusion is not surprising given the current state of competitive media and newspapers all vying for the most polarising headlines and click bait. The purpose of this article is to give a brief explanation of what Omega 3s are and why all Omega fat supplements are not created equal. But first, let’s cover the basics..

PR1MEBRIDE: Helen

PR1MEBRIDE: Helen

Helen made exceptional amounts of fat-loss on her PR1MEBODY journey.  The approach of her wedding day was the perfect fuel to her fire.  In total she lost close to 10kg by the big day.

PR1MEBRIDE: Eve

PR1MEBRIDE: Eve

Eve was, as many brides-to-be are, frantically busy in the lead up to her wedding. She worried that she had left it a bit too late to get in the shape she had hoped for her wedding. With wedding costs mounting up, hiring a trainer multiple times a week to reach her goal was not an option. She was also extremely skeptical about the promises of online diet/training plans –and rightly so...

Patient ZERO

Patient ZERO

I started on the Pr1mebody programme what seems like a lifetime ago now and it's because of this programme I can manage my training and my eating for when 'Life' happens. I understand my weaknesses and I work on them, I recognise that there will be setbacks but through the continued support of Tim and the PR1MEBODY app messenger,  the setback whether it be mental or physical, doesn't end up being much of a setback at all.  It's turns into a point at which to push on and forward.  Even when I'm flying around the world for concerts or sat on trains for hours at a time, Pr1me has given me the tools to strive to improve myself everyday."

PR1MEBODY ORIGINS: Tim's Journey

PR1MEBODY ORIGINS: Tim's Journey

PR1MEBODY’s creator, Tim Blakey began his journey with a sports obsession in his childhood and teens. But upon finding himself in the physio clinic more often than on the rugby field, he was led  to pursue a career in physiotherapy. Being held back from having the ability to move his body in the way he wanted it to, felt unnatural, and even like a betrayal of his own body, to Tim...

Nutrition and men’s mental health: why a happy gut means a happy mind

Nutrition and men’s mental health: why a happy gut means a happy mind

For some, as we descend into winter our moods can drop and everything seems grey.  Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D) is a form of depression predominantly brought on by the lack of sunshine we absorb.  Superman gets his power from Earth’s yellow sun and it seems we mortal men aren’t much different...

The TRUTH about MEAT and how to spot bad science

The TRUTH about MEAT and how to spot bad science

A few weeks ago the media was awash with the latest 'Eat meat and DIE" propaganda.

While its true you should always care about the quality of the meat you eat, blanket claims about meat causing cancer is sensationalist media at its finest. Remember;

5 Things the Media needs to know about the Paleo Diet

5 Things the Media needs to know about the Paleo Diet

It seems almost every week a new review or opinion piece is published that attempts to discredit The Paleo Diet; a lifestyle paradigm that has helped millions gain control of their health and combat disease without the need of pharmaceutical intervention. Other than those in the health and fitness industry or those who stumble across the merits of Paleo through self experimentation, the general public continues to be fed a rather biased view of the Paleo diet by the media. I feel its time to set a few things straight;
